Flux 2 Klein is an image generation and editing model family from Black Forest Labs. It includes three variants: 4B Base (compact undistilled), 4B (4-step distilled), and 9B Base (maximum flexibility). All support text-to-image, image editing, and reference-based generation.
4B Base is undistilled with the complete foundation intact, optimized for fine-tuning and custom pipelines. 4B is distilled to 4 steps for near real-time generation, ideal for production where speed matters.
Use 9B Base when you need maximum flexibility and control for advanced fine-tuning or post-training workflows. It has 9 billion parameters compared to 4 billion in the smaller models.
Positive prompts support 1 to 10,000 characters. Negative prompts are optional and also support 1 to 10,000 characters. This gives you room for extremely detailed specifications.
From 128 to 2048 pixels for both width and height. Dimensions must be multiples of 16. This covers small thumbnails up to large high-resolution images.
Yes. You can upload up to 4 reference images through inputs.referenceImages. The model uses these to guide style, maintain character consistency, or extract other visual elements for your generation.
It supports text-to-image, image-to-image, reference-to-image, and image editing. You can generate from scratch, modify existing images, or use references to guide creation.
The CFG scale controls how closely the model follows your prompt. Range from 1 to 20 with a default of 3.5. Higher values make the model stick closer to your description. True CFG scale is a separate parameter with a range of 1-20 and a default of 4.
The steps range from 1 to 50. The 4B distilled model is optimized for 4 steps. More steps can improve quality, but increase generation time. Experiment to find your quality vs speed balance.
You can choose none, low, medium, or high acceleration (default is high). This controls the speed vs quality tradeoff during generation. Higher acceleration means faster results.
Yes. The base models (4B Base and 9B Base) are undistilled, which makes them optimized for fine-tuning and custom pipelines. The distilled 4B is optimized for speed, not customization.
Positive prompts describe what you want in your image. Negative prompts describe what you don’t want. Both support up to 10,000 characters. The negative prompts are optional.
